Envoy ID aims at immediately identifying the provenance of each envoy and consists of three numbers. The first relates to the macroregion, the second to the region, and the third represents the unique identifier of the envoy.

For instance:
06.06.355 Apollonios son of Hiatrokles
06 indicates Asia Minor, 06 points to Karia. Each envoy from Caria share these two numbers.
355 is the unique identifier of the Carian envoy Apollonios son of Hiatrokles.
